So yesterday I went on a bit of an expedition.
Well, if you can call a five minute drive that anyway.
I put on my walking boots, grabbed the ol' Nikon and set off in the direction of the nearby poppy fields that have been blooming gloriously for the past few weeks. And I photographed. And photographed, and photographed.
It's been so long since I took time out to do it that I'd forgotten just how wonderful it is. To forget everything else and just capture something beautiful.
In my head of course, I was the bohemian artist, dashing through meadows without a care in the world or worry on my mind.
In reality, I was the clumsy amateur who kept tripping over her own shoes and scratching her legs on nettles. Oh, and wasps aren't what you'd call my best pals either. It was quite a sight. No-one else was there to capture that part though...probably for the best.
And just when I was starting to think I'd be seeing poppies in my sleep, I saw this little stowaway on my boot.
Looks like I'll be seeing red for a while then!
