This Week Has Been...

Cute

Delicious

Lilac

Overgrown

Expensive

Grateful

⋆To the blog author that posted this picture sometime last week, please let me know where I can find you - I'd quite like to thank you for making my uni work bearable with this desktop background of cuteness. Seriously, I look at it and smile. WANT.⋆
[edit: I found it on Cellardoor's lovely blog :) Thanks Jade!]

⋆The caption for this picture really should have been swindled - I swear their cookies are getting smaller by the day. While the price increases, naturally. But alas, I can't shake off that temptation towards soft, chewy, melt-in-the-middle, chocolate chip cookies. And now I've drooled all over my keyboard, beautiful⋆

⋆The latest issue of Company reminded me about a nail varnish I hadn't used. YAY for coordination. Why is it that I shudder at the thought of coordinating outfits, but matching my nails to a magazine, oh that's not weird at all⋆

⋆Haircut long overdue. Emphasis on the long.⋆

⋆I bought a new camera. Oh god. I really did. And apparently have only just realised myself. I've had money saved up for a year or two now, and finally just bit the bullet [wow. that phrase isn't half as catchy in the past tense] and nabbed one from Jessops. We won't mention the unbelievably awkward atmosphere when I realised the sales guy was more than a little bit adorable. No, we won't. ⋆

⋆And last, but certainly not least, a big squidgy cyber-hug to my mum. For tucking me in when I was scared at night, for doing my make up for the very first time, for telling me not to worry about the future, for letting me hide behind you when I was too shy, for walking tall right alongside me, for wiping my eyes when I sobbed, for kissing my knees when I fell over, for giving me the most beautiful little sister, for buying me hot chocolates on the pier, for making me the dress that I wore endlessly, for never giving up hope when I was lost, for driving me to the train station, for making me birthday cakes, for giving me room to grow. And most of all mum, for reassuring me that it's okay to just be me, to follow my heart and not give up on my dreams. I'm doing it all because of you⋆

The bit about your Mum made me tearful.

The bit about the shrinking cookies and increasing price made me angry.

We should set up an epic cookie shop and show them buggers how it's done.

Aw, the ode to your mother, so eloquently put! Got to love them. And super jealous of new camera, I'm currently operating from my mobile phone camera while I save money. Not fun, for anyone. X

N'awww, that last bit about your Mum made me smile. She sounds wonderful. Mother's love is unrequited isn't it, no matter what horrors us daughter can be (I'm definitely speaking from experience, my teenage years are a lost decade ha!)
