FACETS OF FUCHSIA

When it comes to cosmetics, I could never pretend to be anywhere near as good or knowledgable as the beauty blogging heavyweights like Lily or Zoe, but after finally giving in to this new offering from Revlon I couldn't not blog about it.

The only glitter varnishes I've used before have been bog standard colours, designed more as sparkly top coats than shades in their own right, and thus taking about three coats to start looking positively blingin'.

With this beauty though, the varnish is a translucent black and is speckled with subtle purple glitter and larger sequin-like shards, meaning you not only get a great shimmer, but also a lack of any faffing around with a coloured base coat.

I used two coats, and apart from being near impossible to remove [eventually I used Gem's tip which was a godsend] am really pleased I spent money on this - £6 is way more than I'd usually part with for a nail varnish, but this one was definitely worth it and will see me through the upcoming festivities!

Bravo Revlon, you're doing it right.

I like that there are two different sizes of glitter in there, makes it more interesting I think. Nice post :)

Ooooh I love it! I'm going to get this and hopefully a red glittery one to get in the festive spirit :)

I thought you'd put it over a black basecoat, so good that it's within the varnish. Love that it has larger glitter chunks in it x

i have that nail polish after i saw it on a blog. it's bloody gorgeous, i thought revlon nail polishes are quite pricey too but you get a lot for your money don't you?

I love this, purple is my fave colour and you can't go wrong with a bit of sparkle!! I need this in my life, i dont own any Revlon polishes. Probably cos i'm a tight arse and always go for the cheapos like 17 or Rimmel. (Basically, any brand with a buy 2 get 1 free offer!) x

Ooh love the colour! Your nails are beautifully shaped too (is that a weird compliment? Maybe but it's true!)

This comes up really pretty! I only have a Barry M sparkly polish which is a nightmare to remove! I keep forgetting about Gem's tip, thanks for reminding :) xo

I've seen this on another blog and absolutely loved it! Love the mix of chunky and small glitter bits. 6quid's a bit steep, though. So I'll prolly wait around for a sale or something.
