Yay![er]

Today, I'm going to be brave.

I'm going to ignore my insecurities and just go for it.

I'm going to enter a competition.

After days of lingering, wondering and pining over Yayer's latest comp, I've finally decided to just bite the bullet and have a stab at it [wow, morbid much?!]. Having found the competition on Julia's blog, through one of my endless trails through the blogosphere, I have to admit that Yayer was not a brand I was familiar with.

Had I visited their site before? Nope.

Had I heard of the brand? No.

Did I go and visit them anyway? Hell yes I did. And honestly? I was impressed.

As pompous as it may sound, I never really have high expectations of unfamiliar brands. Not as a result of an overwhelming self-assurance in brand knowledge, far from it. I suppose I just rely way too much on the high street, making me a little reluctant to branch out and see what else is on offer.

Well my friends, I've well and truly learnt my lesson. It turns out you can find your perfect shop online, and anyone who knows my style need only flick to Yayer's homepage to see that it's everything i yearn for.

If only the student budget would allow.

Everything on this site screams festival to me, from play-suits to tribal scarves, shirt dresses to bum-bags [oh how I miss the '90's] and the models' smooth nonchalance only adds to the glasto-vibe.

Effortlessly beautiful with my ombre'd hair, crazy-print top and leather look leggings? Yup... and what?

I love it. The whole lookbook is fab to be honest, all graffitied walls and graphic prints, but it's the vintage section of their website that really drew me in. With plenty to choose from I was a bit stumped when it came to deciding on my favourite item - you can go from granny-chic shirt dresses...

...to polka dot playsuits in just a click.

And that hat. Oh my. If only I could carry them off [I have ear issues. Let's not go there].

With so many prints and patterns to choose from, it seemed kind of overwhelming to decide on just one piece as my favourite. I mean, you're talking to a girl who spends half an hour deciding between a Twirl and a Picnic, so making my mind up was no mean feat. Nevertheless, I finally settled on something from their vintage knitwear section...

I know it's getting a little warmer now, and the days are officially getting longer [thank goodness] but I'm a bit of a knitwear obsessive. And a generally cold person at that. Hence why I'm always drawn to these super-chunky thick-knit jumpers, and I love how they've styled it here with simple cut offs and a crop top. I doubt I'd brave the latter, but I'd definitely wear it similarly. Throw in some chunky worker boots and a pair of Ray-Bans [I wish] and I'm there.

So there you go, a brief but hopefully tempting introduction to Yayer. Or maybe I'm just really late on the uptake and you all already know how great it is. Either way, you can rest assured I'll be spending my evenings browsing through their site, and keeping my fingers crossed for their competition! Remember to go and check out their facebook page and twitter too, and enter the comp here if you fancy : )

It seems that internet window-shopping isn't all that bad after all. Yayer indeed!
