20 September 2011

In the night, the stormy night, she closed her eyes.

I may have wrinkly neck and electrified hair. Oh! And hand-joined-to-chin syndrome. But I also have a pretty cool jumper.

I'd call that redeeming myself. Maybe.

This jumper-dress was a lovely gift from Tesco clothing, taken from a huge sack of clothes they'd provided for the Birmingham meetup this summer: enough for everyone which I thought was really generous.

As it's a  couple of sizes bigger than my usual it doesn't really fit properly when worn as a dress. All lumps and bumps and baggy waist...nice.

Thankfully I loved the open-knit back panel so much that I kept it, and happened to try it out with this skirt snapped up from Forever 21 (£3.99 in the sale - cue celebratory dance) and it seems to have done the trick of hiding any loose parts without losing much of the detail.

It kind of reminds me of the shredded t-shirt trend that happened a while back, albeit a little less edgy. On the plus side though, I didn't have to faff around pulling threads for two hours. Win!

My only worry is the fact that I'm beginning to feel that winter chill already, and so it's fairly likely that the detailed back will be shrouded completely in a thick winter coat. But hey, I'm refusing to hide away all of my 'summer' clothes this year. I'mma man up, buy some tights, and risk being a tiny bit cold.

I get the feeling I may regret ever saying that come January!

Gorgeous knit detail on that jumper! I typically buy one investment coat, and wear a few thin layers underneath for the winter chill (:

Ooo, that's such a gorgeous jumper. Yay for Tesco being so awesome. I don't like the winter chill. I haven't bought out the winter tights yet, which I completely regretted yesterday.
